In honor of Day of Remembrance, acclaimed Art Director Bob Matsumoto created this iconic poster to honor the families who were incarcerated in the ten WRA concentration camps after the signing of the infamous Executive Order 9066 – Manzanar, Tule Lake, Heart Mountain, Topaz, Poston, Amache, Gila River, Jerome, Minidoka & Rohwer. The poster features three simple elements — three lines of barbed wire in red, white and blue set to a black background to symbolize the darkest days of American history. The poster is beautifully printed on art paper and perfect for framing.

For Matsumoto, “Remembrance” is a symbol of loss and a reminder of his love of country with all its imperfections. "Until you lose everything, or you live in a different country, that’s when you realize, yes, we are lucky to be Americans,” he said. Matsumoto, whose advertising work is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art, was incarcerated in Manzanar.
