A Tradition of Honor DVD
Explore the history, drama and heroics of WWII from the perspective of Japanese American soldiers who served in the European and Pacific Theatres. Theirs is a story of iron courage that remains unmatched in U.S. history. Their battles in the European Theatre include the valiant rescue of the Texas ""lost battalion,"" considered one of the top battles in U.S. Army history. The ingenious attack strategy breached the Gothic Line, accomplishing in 34 minutes what had stymied Allied forces for six months. Their gut-wrenching charge through a seemingly impenetrable German barricade led to the liberation of Rome.
On the other side of the world, Japanese American soldiers served as top-secret linguists, intercepting and decoding crucial messages in the Pacific War, saving countless lives. They accomplished all this while many of their families lived behind barbed wire fences in incarceration camps. Includes more than 20 minutes of bonus footage and a Nisei veterans photo gallery by Shane Sato, with music by Harold Payne.
